Let priests have sex: Vatican leaders open to discuss it

There’s something missing from this headline.  If these discussions are open outside the context of allowing persists to marry, I don’t see what else is there to discuss.    

The Post reports this is not your grandmother’s Catholic Church!

Archbishop Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state, said Catholic leaders are open to discussion about one of the church’s touchiest issues — celibacy for priests – saying that it’s not formal church dogma and therefore could be changed.

“Celibacy is not an institution but look, it is also true that you can discuss [it] because as you say this is not a dogma, a dogma of the church,” Parolin told El Universal, a Venezuelan newspaper.

He said the church needs to “reflect the democratic spirit of the times and adopt of collegial way of governing” the flock.

“It is possible to discuss and reflect on these topics that are not defined faith, and consider some modifications, but always in the service of unity and according to God’s will,” Parolin added..

It is not clear exactly when Rome ordered celibacy for priests.

BOMBSHELL-Assad did not order Syria chemical weapons attack, according to German Intel

President Obama basis for attacking Syria is that Assad is responsible for ordering a chemical weapons attack.  If this allegation is not true, Obama’s rationale for war is flawed and illegitimate.   

The Guardianreports President Bashar al-Assad did not personally order last month's chemical weapons attack near Damascus that has triggered calls for US military intervention, and blocked numerous requests from his military commanders to use chemical weapons against regime opponents in recent months, a German newspaper has reported , citing unidentified, high-level national security sources.

The intelligence findings were based on phone calls intercepted by a German surveillance ship operated by the BND, the German intelligence service, and deployed off the Syrian coast, Bild am Sonntag said. The intercepted communications suggested Assad, who is accused of war crimes by the west, including foreign secretary William Hague, was not himself involved in last month's attack or in other instances when government forces have allegedly used chemical weapons.

John Kerry insists the number of countries supporting military action in Syria is now in 'double digits'... but he won't say who they are

Does the world really trust the word of a guy who embellishes his Viet Nam record every chance he gets?  

Daily Mail reports U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met Arab leaders in Paris on Sunday, the day after he spoke of growing international support for military action in Syria.

Kerry met Egypt's foreign minister Nabil Fahmy then headed to talk to Prince Saud al Faisal, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, and other Middle Eastern leaders at the U.S. Ambassador's residence in the French capital.

On Saturday the Secretary of State said the number of countries who were prepared to take military action in Syria was now 'in the double digits', but he didn't name them publicly.

At a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Kerry said: 'There are a number of countries in the double digits, who are prepared to take military action. 

'The overwhelming support is moving in the direction of holding the Assad regime to account,' he continued, as both men attempted to encourage support for action in both France and the U.S.

Kerry added that: 'We have more countries prepared to take military action than we actually could use in the kind of military action being contemplated.'

BREAKING: Syrian al-Qaida-linked rebels take Christian village

And these are the guys Obama wants to help win the Syrian civil war?

AP reports rebels including al-Qaida-linked fighters gained control of a Christian village northeast of the capital Damascus, Syrian activists said Sunday. Government media provided a dramatically different account of the battle suggesting regime forces were winning.

It was impossible to independently verify the reports from Maaloula, a scenic mountain community known for being one of the few places in the world where residents still speak the ancient Middle Eastern language of Aramaic. The village is on a UNESCO list of tentative world heritage sites.

The rebel advance into the area this week was spearheaded by the Jabhat al-Nusra, or Nusra Front, exacerbating fears among Syrians and religious minorities about the role played by Islamic extremists within the rebel ranks.

It was not immediately clear why the army couldn't sufficiently reinforce its troops to prevent the rebel advance in the area only 43 kilometers (26 miles) from Damascus. Some activists say that Assad's forces are stretched thin, fighting in other areas in the north and south of the country.

There is no such thing as man-made global warming as a result of carbon emissions.  It’s a myth, a fraud like everything else progressives try to warn us about. 

Who controls climate?  God!  And there’s absolutely nothing humanity can do to prevent if He wants it cooler or hotter. 

Daily Mailreports a chilly Arctic summer has left nearly a million more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 60 per cent.

The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.

Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.

The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year. More than 20 yachts that had planned to sail it have been left ice-bound and a cruise ship attempting the route was forced to turn back.

Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.

The disclosure comes 11 months after The Mail on Sunday triggered intense political and scientific debate by revealing that global warming has ‘paused’ since the beginning of 1997 – an event that the computer models used by climate experts failed to predict.

In March, this newspaper further revealed that temperatures are about to drop below the level that the models forecast with ‘90 per cent certainty’.

The pause – which has now been accepted as real by every major climate research centre – is important, because the models’ predictions of ever-increasing global temperatures have made many of the world’s economies divert billions of pounds into ‘green’ measures to counter climate change.
