You have may have heard the media, especially MSNBC, wailing about a disparity of justice in which George Zimmerman is found not guilty of killing Trayvon Martin while another Florida resident, Marissa Alexander, gets 20 years for firing a warning shot in the air at her abusive husband.
That’s the storyline flying through social media to gin up further strife over the Goerge Zimmerman verdict. However, it didn’t take me long to uncover the real facts of the case that went to trial and a jury took only 12 minutes to decide that Marisa Alexander was the aggressor firing a gun shot in the direction of her husband and children in a reckless act of assault with a deadly weapon.
From the Huffington Post
“While Alexander's family has portrayed her as a victim at the end of her emotional rope and in fear of her life, Corey says Alexander fired in anger and not in fear. Corey disputes the so-called warning shot into the ceiling with photographs that show bullet holes much lower, going through a kitchen wall and into the living room where Corey said Gray and his boys were.”
"The fact that nobody got hurt has to be balanced with the fact that someone could have gotten hurt," Corey said. "The kids being right next to him changed everything."
From JacksonvilleNews
“The husband of Marissa Alexander said Wednesday it was her violent nature, not his, that ultimately landed her 20 years in prison.
"I never put my hands on Marissa Alexander," said 36-year-old Rico Gray, accompanied by his 12-year-old son when he spoke with the media Wednesday at the State Attorney's Office in Jacksonville.
Gray explained how the events unfolded in the August 2010 shooting and its mandatory sentencing Friday that have drawn national attention since the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case.
He said it was Alexander, 31, who first began punching him after he confronted her about some text messages she had sent to her ex-husband.
Gray said he put his hands up in defense "buying time" for his two sons to gather their belongings so he could take them and leave. But when he made the remark that their newborn baby must be fathered by her ex-husband, he said she immediately stopped.
"She said, 'I got something for your — —,' and walked away," Gray said. "I knew exactly what she was going to do."
Gray said she went to the garage, to her truck, to get her gun and then returned back inside the home. He said the garage door that she claimed was inoperable worked for him earlier that morning and later that day with no trouble.
"When she came back inside, the first thing I saw was her putting one [a bullet] in the chamber," he said.
Gray said by the time his kids had come to his side to leave, she had the gun pointed at him.
"As soon as I took my eyes off Marissa, that's when I heard the gunshot," Gray said.
He said he never looked back, grabbing the children and running out of the house and down the street.
Alexander was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A judge denied her immunity in a Stand Your Ground hearing in 2011. In March a jury took just 12 minutes to find her guilty.

So once again the corrupt media is spinning another distortion to make a political point. But, none of what they say is based in facts.
