While many are concentrating on President Obama’s comments that he could’ve be Tayvon Martin35 years ago, I thought he said something more explosive.
During yesterday presser in which President Obama gave his views of the post-George Zimmerman verdict and how blacks historically view such decisions, he also said the following:
“But beyond protests or vigils, the question is, are there some concrete things that we might be able to do? I know that Eric Holder is reviewing what happened down there [Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin], but I think it’s important for people to have some clear expectations here. Traditionally, these are issues of state and local government -- the criminal code. And law enforcement has traditionally done it at the state and local levels, not at the federal levels.”
I don’t see how this can be interpreted in any other way other than saying there’s no evidence of racial bias on the part of George Zimmerman after 16 months of the DOJ investigating the matter.
