East County Times reports two teens beat a woman during an attempted carjacking Thursday afternoon, but the motorist fought back and officers quickly arrested the pair, police said.The driver was treated at a hospital and released.Police said the driver, whose name and age were not released, was forced to stop around 2:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Asilomar Drive because a man and a dog were standing in front of her car.When she stopped the car, a 16-year-old girl opened the driver's side door and assaulted the driver. A second person, later identified as Alexander Boivin, 18, opened the passenger side door and also assaulted the victim, who fought back, police said.Police said two people witnessed the assault and pulled the man and the girl from the victim's car and then struggled briefly with the pair. The suspects ran away but were detained by the bystanders and police.Before the attempted carjacking, Boivin robbed a mail carrier of his cell phone in a park, but the postal worker was not injured, police said.Boivin, who police said is a known gang member, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of felony assault, carjacking, robbery, and gang enhancements. The teen girl was booked into juvenile hall for felony assault, carjacking, vandalism, and gang enhancement.More here
